Graduate studies at the University of Virginia are offered in both M.S. and Ph.D. levels in three departments: Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering and Environmental Sciences. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers courses and research programs in hydraulics, hydrology, environmental engineering, water quality and pollution control. The Department of Systems and Information Engineering offers courses and research programs in systems engineering and applications to water resources systems planning and management. The Department of Environmental Sciences offers courses and research programs in atmospheric sciences, ecology, environmental geology, and hydrology. Related courses are also offered in other academic departments in the University. Integrated interdisciplinary study programs can be arranged for student needs.
